Questions
How these pages are builtWhat is a place-type page?
It groups the directory's stations by what the site is — a hotel, a workplace, a dealership, a shopping center — rather than by network or connector. The grouping comes from the place field on each station record, so a station appears on exactly one of these pages.
Which place type has the most EV chargers?
Hotels and lodging is the largest group with 172 stations, followed by shopping centers at 103 and street parking at 96.
Which place type is fastest?
Shopping centers has the highest share of DC fast charging: 75 of its 103 stations charge at 50 kW or more. Hotels, workplaces and street parking are the other end of the scale — almost all AC.
Are all of these chargers open to the public?
Not necessarily. A charger in a residents' garage or a staff parking lot can be in the directory because the record lists it, not because anyone can drive in. The station page carries the access line the record holds, and the hours it records.
